Kentlyn Project
Set on a sprawling acreage property, this full-home renovation transformed a heavily dated 1970s residence into a warm, light-filled architectural masterpiece.
While the original home featured incredible bones and unique structural character, the layout felt enclosed and disconnected from the surrounding landscape. The client had a clear vision to completely reimagine the home by embracing openness, natural light, and stronger indoor-outdoor connection while still preserving the home’s distinctive architectural personality.
Extensive structural works were carried out throughout the property, including the removal of multiple internal walls, large-scale openings, and several major beam installations. A huge attached carport at the front of the home was completely repurposed into an expansive sunroom, requiring significant structural reinforcement to create the open, inviting space the client envisioned.
Oversized floor-to-ceiling stacker doors replaced smaller windows and enclosed wall sections, dramatically changing the way natural light moves throughout the home. The transformation now highlights the home’s soaring cathedral ceilings, layered levels, and unique transitions between spaces, features that were previously hidden within the darker, compartmentalised layout.
What was once a closed-off and dated home now feels expansive, connected and full of life, with natural light flowing through every zone and drawing attention to the home’s architectural detail from every angle.
