The Ponds Project

Originally engaged to install a single skylight, this project quickly evolved into a complete structural transformation. Despite already featuring impressive 3.5 metre ceilings, the home felt dark and disconnected from the outdoor entertaining area. The initial goal was simple, introduce more natural light above the kitchen with a custom skylight installation.

As the vision expanded, so did the scope of works. The client wanted to create stronger indoor-outdoor flow, open up the rear living spaces, and completely change the way the home felt and functioned.

The transformation involved two major structural beam installations, large-scale openings, and a custom skylight solution that now floods the home with natural light. What was once a standard cookie-cutter property has been completely reimagined into a warm, open and highly architectural living space.

The lush backyard oasis now feels like a natural extension of the interior, contributing to the calm, serene atmosphere throughout the home and creating a seamless connection between indoors and out.

The finished result is dramatic enough to make you ask “Is this even the same home?”
